Why is this day being celebrated or observed? This day is for Black America to be totally healed.

How should this day be celebrated or observed? Beginning at dawn and ending at sundown.

A day of fasting, praying, repentance and atonement of sins. Abstinence from food, drink, and sex.

Abstinence from alcohol, drugs, (unless prescription), limited, to no use of electronics.

Limited, to no work. Pregnant and nursing mothers, the ill, and small children are exempt.

The fast is broken by thanksgiving and praise to God and a light meal.

CAUTION

Always be cautious when fasting. Those with underlying health issues should be extra careful.

In fact, if you take lots of medicine and have multiple health issues you should not fast.  

Be careful not to get dangerously dehydrated.

Those living in  hot climes should proceed with caution. People living in hot states like Texas and other hot places should hydrate with water mostly. Stay away from sweet drinks.

Intermittent Fasting

It's okay to fast intermittently, but do it  sensibly. Eat healthy, fruits, vegetables, lots of water. Stay away from sweets. You get to determine how long you fast and when you eat.
